London, England – The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) announced today the ongoing growth of its expert services team with the addition of Simon Redfern to the firm’s London office as Director. Mr Redfern has a proven and well-respected track record in managing large, multi-disciplinary, geographically diverse teams across the full offshore wind asset lifecycle including development, project financing, construction, operations and equity sale processes.
Mr Redfern has deep, senior level commercial and technical experience of offshore wind projects. Prior to joining RCG, he was Head of Operated Joint Ventures at Centrica, a top 30 FTSE 100 UK utility and was part of the team that developed, constructed and operated many of the UK’s offshore wind farms. Mr Redfern led on the technical aspects of some of the first project finance deals in the UK offshore wind sector. He was Project Director and Board Director on several developments, in construction and operating assets in partnership with other leading offshore wind players (DONG, EIG and Siemens Project Ventures) and was the chairman of a large UK offshore wind Joint Venture for several years taking a project financed project from the construction phase into full operation.
Prior to this Mr Redfern was Project Director for Lynn & Inner Dowsing (£340 million CapEx) and Lincs (£1.1 billion CapEx), both of which were delivered on time, within budget and with an excellent safety record.

Mr Redfern has a BSc/BS Nautical Studies (navigation, hydrography, meteorology, oceanography and naval architecture) from the University of Plymouth, England.
