Elaine Greig brings further engineering, project management and due diligence expertise to the firm.
London, UK – The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) is pleased to welcome Elaine Greig to the team as a Director and Head of Service Delivery.
Elaine has over 22 years’ experience in the electricity supply industry, with the last 14 in wind energy development, engineering, finance, construction and operations. Greig joins RCG following her previous roles as Head of Offshore Renewables at DNV GL, formerly GL Garrad Hassan, and Project Director at Vattenfall.
“We are thrilled to welcome Elaine to the RCG family.” said Sebastian Chivers, CEO. “Our mission is very clear— we are working hard to better understand the needs of tomorrow’s leaders, build the right team with the capabilities to match, and create a new formula for service delivery excellence.” “Elaine will play a central role in our strategy, and help deepen our relationships with new and existing clients.”
An experienced Project Manager and Charted Engineer, Greig moved into the renewables industry from power systems consultancy. She joined AMEC Wind in 2001 becoming Grid Connections and Electrical Engineering Manager for their on- and offshore wind portfolio from Lynn to Race Bank, alongside being Development Manager for a series of onshore Scottish projects. Following the acquisition of AMEC by Vattenfall – during which she also advised on the acquisition of Thanet – Greig became Head of Onshore Construction for Vattenfall, and then a Project Director responsible for the £250m joint-venture European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre.
Following Vattenfall, Elaine joined renewable energy consultancy GL Garrad Hassan as Head of Offshore Renewables working with major utilities, project developers, investors and manufacturers. Her team acted as owner’s engineer, conducted due diligence appraisals and managed optimized design engineering for several major offshore projects. Elaine acted as Global Practice Head for Offshore Wind, as well as directing the team and significant consultancy projects. DNV KEMA merged with GL Garrad Hassan to form DNV GL. Greig holds BSc MEng degrees in Engineering from Manchester University, and an MBA from Durham University.
“I’m really happy to be joining a great bunch of people with such diverse and interesting experiences. Our industry is delivering despite continually being challenged and mutating to adapt. I’m confident that RCG will play a key role in future global delivery.” said Elaine Greig.
RCG will attend at present at the EWEA Annual Event in Paris, France this week.
