Senior Associate

Richard White is a senior associate within the transactions advisory team at RCG. He has 4 years of broad experience advising clients on participation in the global renewable energy industry.

Richard is a trusted advisor on the interface between technical and commercial risk management in renewable energy developments. He has broad experience advising clients on matters pertaining to early-stage development through to the operational phase, particularly from a transactions and M&A perspective.

Richard’s experience spans a wide array of consultancy engagements within the renewable energy sector for a diverse, multi-national client network including banks, utilities and developers. Richard’s early career saw him lead delivery of construction monitoring and certification services for two 100 MW solar projects and a 270 MW onshore wind project in Australia. He also supported the delivery of these services for seven other utility scale renewable energy developments, all together, constituting more than £1B in construction spend and 1.1 GW of generation capacity.

Richard has leveraged this experience to grow capable at supporting early-stage development advisory engagements, as well as transaction advisory support for greenfield and operational projects. This experience includes supporting buy and sell side transactions for developers, equity partners and commercial banks.
Richard also has experience leading design management projects for New Zealand’s transmission system operator.

Technical due diligence, onshore wind
Delivered buy side technical due diligence services for an international equity fund looking to acquire a stake in one of Australia’s largest operational wind farms.
Construction monitoring for Australian Solar
Led delivery of construction monitoring services on behalf of financing banks for two 100 MW solar farms in Australia including site visits, EPC/early-stage O&M/PPA contract administration and risk monitoring.
Development advisory
Led delivery of a go-to market analysis for a major New Zealand IPP seeking to enter the New Zealand utility solar market including analysis of site qualification, key equipment suppliers, and CAPEX and OPEX benchmarks.
