Carolina de Mas

Associate Director

Carolina de Mas is an Associate Director in RCG’s Barcelona office. She has over 10 years’ experience in the offshore energy sector and provides clients with expert technical support for the development and delivery of renewable projects.

Carolina de Mas has a proven track record in managing technical multi-disciplinary teams to deliver competitive bids for offshore wind tenders. She is an expert in the offshore arena and has a deep understanding of the full project lifecycle – having worked across development, execution and operational stages.

With experience spanning major Nordic energy developers and operators, Ms de Mas has held multiple roles in both technical and management positions. She has led technical teams for some of the world’s largest offshore wind farms, with a special focus on identifying competitive levers and LCoE reduction initiatives. Ms de Mas is also an expert on site selection and yield optimisation and has also provided technical advisory for due diligences. She is a firm believer that safety is our license to operate and has vast experience in planning offshore operations and conducting risk assessments. Having been based in various countries during her career (UK, Spain, Denmark and Qatar) Ms de Mas is also skilled in navigating multi-cultural environments and in stakeholder engagement.

Ms de Mas trained as an industrial engineer in Spain and as a civil engineer in Sweden. She is a voluntarily advisory to the secretariat of WindEurope and has qualifications in business sustainability management, power purchase agreements (PPA) structures, agile methodologies and project management.

Representative Assignments

Development Project Manager
Managed the technical scope of a US offshore wind farm asset from the early site selection stage until fully matured for bid submission. Coordinated the identification of project levers and LCoE reduction initiatives.
Market Intelligence
Led technical sensitivity analyses to increase an offshore wind farm project competitiveness that successfully secured a contract for difference (CfD) deal in the UK second auction round held in 2017.
Asset Management
Provided technical support to offshore personnel both on-site and from the office to handle daily tasks and 24/7 duty support during execution of planned operations.
