Calum Dalrymple

Senior Associate

Calum Dalrymple is a Senior Associate in RCG’s Glasgow office. His experience is primarily based on delivering technical due diligence assignments having managed and supported various international projects as a technical advisor for lenders, investors and vendors.

Calum’s experience as a technical consultant ranges from the pre-financial close stage through to construction and operation of offshore projects across UK, Europe and Taiwan. His specific knowledge includes the technical risks of project contracts, offshore construction methodologies and operation and maintenance (O&M) strategies.

Prior to joining RCG, Calum worked as a senior consultant at a leading, global engineering consultancy. Here he was engaged in numerous international wind energy due diligence assignments throughout the project lifecycle. He was responsible for project management of technical due diligence assignments and several offshore wind construction assignments.  During this time, he has managed multidisciplinary teams to deliver key reports for developers and project lenders, including key issue/red flag, construction monitoring, operational and completions reports.  Calum also has experience in providing external training to companies seeking to enter the wind industry as service providers.

Calum has a Master’s Degree (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, UK.   He returned to university after several years to complete a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Renewable Energy Engineering, which focused on the fundamental engineering concepts of renewable energy systems (wind, solar, hydrogen, geothermal etc.).

Representative Assignments

Lender's Technical Advisor, Offshore Wind
Project managed the construction and completion phases of a 380 MW Taiwanese offshore wind farm as the lender’s technical advisor. Focus was given to the key construction aspects through producing monthly construction monitoring reports, site visits, drawdowns, ongoing lender support and a final completions report to confirm commercial operations.
Vendor Due Diligence, Offshore Wind
Project managed the delivery of a key risk report, prior to the full due diligence phase, for a global offshore wind developer during the development of a 3.6 GW offshore wind project. The assignment also included issuing several ad-hoc technical reports related to novel technology used on the project.
Lender's Technical Advisor, Offshore Wind
Project managed the construction phase of a 1.1 GW UK offshore wind farm as the lender’s technical advisor. Monthly tasks included producing monthly construction monitoring reports, site visits, drawdowns and lender support.
